Curtains and blinds can be very expensive especially if your windows are not a standard size. “So, if you have ever wanted to learn how to make your own, then this is the course for you”.
You will learn how to: calculate drop and width of a curtain or blind, attach curtain/blind tape, hemming techniques and make a lampshade. You can then use your newly acquired skill to make a full-sized curtain/blind at home.
What to bring: everything you need for your curtain and blind sample is provided for you. Please bring a piece of fabric on week 3 measuring at least one meter wide by 30 cm in depth. No need to cut fabric prior to coming to class.
Skill Level: You need to be able to use a sewing machine.

Silk Scarf Painting
Silk painting is the process of applying specialist dyes/paints to 100% silk to create colourful pieces of art.
On this relaxing silk painting class, you will have the opportunity to make two hand painted scarves. You will learn about different silks, silk dyes and how to set them using the microwave. Every scarf is unique, and they make great gifts. If you have ever wanted to try Silk painting, then this would be a great way to start.

Hand Embroidery
If you have always wanted to learn Hand Embroidery, but just don’t know where to start? Then this introduction class could be for you. Hand Embroidery is so on trend at the moment, from cushions to clothes there is no sign of this trend going away.
On this class you will be taught 6 basic embroidery stitches and produce a labelled stitch sampler for future reference. Beautiful pieces of work can be created with just a few stitches and you will be given plenty of time to master each stitch. With your newly acquired skills you will have the opportunity to start a new piece of work. You will be shown various techniques to transfer a design onto fabric and will have a choice of designs to choose from.
Stitches: Satin Stitch, running stitch, back stitch, woven wheel, split stitch & lazy daisy.

Watercolour Embroidery
